Godin A6 Guitar and Original Hard Case This guitar was purchase in 1999 at Rudy's Guitars in NYC.
Considered a plugged in acoustic by Godin this instrument combines electric guitar feel with amplified acoustic guitar sound. The body is only 2 inches deep and features a carefully selected solid cedar top.
Unlike a traditional acoustic where the back and sides are glued together, the A6 is carved from a block of maple. Inside there are two sound chambers - the smaller chamber is where the EQ controls live (the control slots in the guitar to actually double as the sound hole). The design inhibits feedback by letting the air inside the larger chamber escape through the channel and out the slots.
The A6 neck is made from Honduras mahogany topped with a rosewood fingerboard.
The custom designed L.R. Baggs electronics in the A6 include the under saddle ribbon transducer and pre-amp with a 3-way graphic EQ and volume control.
The active electronics are powered by a standard 9 volt battery. Battery life is approx. 300 hours. To preserve battery life unplug the guitar patch cord when not in use.
